Happy Rebirthday, Israel.

Always Eternal.

Eternally Yours,

HaTikvah (The Hope; a poem by Naftali Herz Imber; also it is the Israel National Anthem)

Kol od balayvav pnima nefesh Yehudi homiyah

Ul fatey Mizrach kadima

Ayin L’Tsion tsofiyah

Od lo avdah tikvatenu

HaTikvah shnot al payim

Liyot Am chofshi be’artzenu

B’Eretz Tzion V’rushalyim.

(HaTikvah “The Hope” translation from “My Jewish Learning”:)

As long as within our hearts

The Jewish soul sings,

As long as forward to the East

To Zion, looks the eye —

Our hope is not yet lost,

It is two thousand years old,

To be a free people in our land

The land of Zion and Jerusalem.

  1. My heart and soul do. My body is stuck somewhere in the U.S. of A! The Jewish people belong to Israel! That’s their cultural, ancestral (except when they set out from Ur of the Chaldees), spiritual, traditional, actual home! Thank you for the happiness (as always). Lots of pain for Israel, though.

  2. My comment on your poem, un-free fall, was getting hung up and not going through, so I’ll tell you here that it was very nice. I thought it had a bumpy landing; Ouch! Very painful (hee-hee)!

  3. Today in the U.S. Celebrate with me!
I’m sending you a Peace Bunny!
In Israel, from May 11/Sundown, ’til today.

  4. Happy you liked it, Laura Lee. Hope is always thete; we just need to realize that there are always many choices and paths out there. We pick them and hope for the best.
